Oproep voor bijdragen aan het documentaire project "The Future We Want"

De Buddhistische Omroep Stichting produceert in samenwerking met NCDO de documentaire "The Future We Want". Maal deel uit van deze inspirerende documantiare over het Earth Charter, een verhaal van individuen die de wereld willen veranderen. Deze film zal samenvallen met de Rio+20 conferentie en is bedoeld om persoonlijke actie voor een betere wereld te markeren. Stuur voor 15 april je video in voor deze documentaire over het Earth Charter en je idealisme om de wereld te veranderen.

Documentary: The Future We Want

The Future We Want is a documentary about the power of individuals fighting for a better world. Their stories encapsulate the transformation of oneself and the surroundings, through small and big struggles. The various themes of the Earth Charter are the source of inspiration for the film. Through personal struggles we learn about the contributions which are made on an individual level worldwide. Though all story lines differ in character, in the course of the documentary the film aims to show the viewer the interconnectedness of economy, ecology, peace, human rights and education. And the difference each one of us can make.
 
However, this is no easy feat. The film leads the viewer from a struggle 'for the right cause'  to an inner struggle to find a dynamic hope inside to overcome the negativity we encounter in our own lives and environment. It's about acts of compassion, an essential notion in a time like this, that former Dutch prime minister Ruud Lubbers recognized as a time which an urge for economic profit gives in to a sigh for ethics.
